SAA Pressure Modifies “Double-Dipping” Language

On Tuesday, May 21, the Joint Finance Committee (JFC) modified the so-called “double-dipping” provisions of Assembly Bill 40 (State Budget Bill) in response to concerns voiced by Wisconsin school administrators.  The motion, authored by Assembly Co-Chair John Nygren, does the following:

While the SAA certainly opposed the “double dipping” motion adopted by JFC, clearly the changes made to the original two-thirds threshold language does make it easier for school districts to hire annuitants to fill vital instructional positions.
